How to Bookmark All Tabs in Chrome at Once
Save every open tab into a single folder with one shortcut, then reopen them anytime
To bookmark every open tab at once, right-click any tab and choose Bookmark all tabs, or press Ctrl+Shift+D
(Cmd+Shift+D on Mac). Chrome gathers every tab in the current window into a single new folder that you name and place.
It is the fastest way to save a research session, a set of references, or "everything I have open right now" before you
close the window.
Use the shortcut or the menu
You have two equivalent options:
- Keyboard: press
Ctrl+Shift+D(Windows/Linux) orCmd+Shift+D(macOS). - Menu: right-click any tab in the tab strip and choose Bookmark all tabs.
Either one opens a dialog to name the new folder and choose where it lives.
Name and place the new folder
In the dialog, give the folder a name you will recognize later (a date or the project name works well) and pick a location — the bookmarks bar, Other Bookmarks, or any existing folder. Chrome creates a fresh folder containing one bookmark per open tab. It does not add the tabs to an existing folder unless you select that folder as the destination.
Reopen all the tabs later
When you want the session back, right-click the folder — on the bookmarks bar or in Bookmark Manager — and choose:
- Open all to open every bookmark in the current window,
- Open all in new window, or
- Open all in new tab group to keep them visually grouped.
Every page in the folder opens at once, restoring the session.
Bookmark only some tabs instead
To save a subset, hold Ctrl (or Cmd) and click the specific tabs you want, then right-click one of the selected tabs
and choose Bookmark tabs. Only the highlighted tabs go into the new folder.
Keep tab-dump folders from piling up
"Bookmark all tabs" is great in the moment, but do it often and you end up with a stack of dated folders full of overlapping links. Periodically clean them up and remove duplicates. TrueBookmark helps here by flagging duplicate URLs across all those session folders and keeping your library organized without manual sorting.
